Full rulle andre uka i mai !!!

Etter den trasige kanselleringen av sykkelrittet var det herlig å få ei skikkelig uke på sykkelsetet! Og et vær som var (nesten) samarbeidsvillig. Jeg har syklet annenhver dag denne uka og har jammen meg klart å få all time high når det gjelder antall km - og antall høydemeter pr. tur! Ukas tall sier følgende:

Antall turer: 4
Løyper
  • 2 x Bjørheimsvannet på 15,8 km hver
  • 1 x Leiteveien over Heia på 26,5 km
  • 1 x Fiskå via Bjørheimsvannet på 28,3 km.
Total lengde: 86,3 km!
Tidsforbruk: totalt 4:43 timer
Max antall høydemeter på én tur: 491m

Den lengste turen tok jeg alene etter å ha kjørt sambo'en til flyplassen imorges. Med over 10 grader og med lydbok på øret ble det en fornøyelse å sykle!!!

Ut fra den fantastiske Garmin-dingsen min ser jeg at jeg kommer ned i hjerterate på "standardruta" vår rundt Bjørheimsvannet. Gjennomsnittlig hjerterate har sunket med 10 selv om vi sykler med samme hastighet. Vi får nok få opp farten litt, tenker jeg. Kjenner at vi har havnet i et gitt tempo som vi ikke akkurat jobber oss forbi, men cruiser bare lettere i. Ikke mye trening i det, så vi får se å få farten opp. De bratte bakkene går mye kjappere. Der jeg tidligere peset i 4km/t ligger jeg nå nærmere 8km/t og depresjonen tar meg ikke lenger når jeg ser en stupbratt del av løypa. Har mer fått "jeg gir f.." holdning og tråkker på i visshet om at jeg ikke kommer til å stryke med. DET er et fremskritt :o)

Veldig fornøyd med 6.-12. mai! Får bare håpe jeg klarer å holde trykket oppe når jeg ikke har sykkelselskap i uka/ukene fremover...!

Sykkelferie til Slovenia i boks!

Her følger opplegget til sykkelturen vår som går til Slovenia i august i år. Vi fant turen på Cycling Slovenia sine websider HER. Turen er en 8-dagers hvor vi sykler totalt 230km og hvor bagasjen blir fraktet for oss. Hotellrom er booket på forhånd av Helia Travel Agency, og det eneste vi har å gjøre er å sykle fra hotell til hotell etter forhåpentligvis forståelig kart :o) Man kan velge om man vil leie sykler eller å bringe egne. Vi drar med egne sykler!

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN LAKE BLED 4* hotel (voted best in 2011 by our guests).
Bled is a world famous town on the shore of a beautiful glacial lake. Defined by its distinctive island church and towering alpine mountain backdrop, and the clifftop castle, Bled is one of Slovenia’s most popular tourist attractions. Visit the island church and marvel at the ornate golden altar and ring the church bell and make a wish, it might come true.

Bohinj LakeDay 2: BLED – RIBČEV LAZ (20 km + possible side trip 10 km). 4* hotel.
From the high plateau at Pokljuka (12 km) you can marvel at the views as you glide down into the neighbouring Bohinj Valley, the jewel in the heart of the Triglav National Park, until reaching the stunning Lake Bohinj. Cycle around the lake to Savica Waterfall, and then take the cable car up to Vogel Mountain for a spectacular view of shimmering alpine scenery.

Day 3: RIBČEV LAZ – ŠKOFJA LOKA (57 km). 3* hotel.
Leaving Bohinj you cycle up 750 m/2400 ft to the Jelovica high plateau. From the top the trail drops off into the Selška Dolina Valley leading to the lush green Škofja Loka hills. The route takes you through a number of historic little villages until you finally arrive in the wonderful town of Škofja Loka, one of the oldest towns in Slovenia, where you can visit the hilltop castle.

Day 4: ŠKOFJA LOKA - PREDDVOR (33 km). 3* pension.
Leaving Škofja Loka you head across the great Sora plain with the majestic peaks of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps as your backdrop, taking you past Kranj, Slovenia’s fourth largest city and host to some interesting gothic architecture. As you continue northeast you’ll come across Brdo Castle, renowned as Slovenia’s most elegant presidential palace. The day ends in Preddvor where your hotel is set close to a small lake.

cycling_holidays_slovenia_kamenDay 5: PREDDVOR - BEGUNJE (42 km). 4* hotel.
A ride through history. This route takes you along the edge of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps to Radovljica with its beautifully preserved old town and an interesting beekeeping museum. Your route will also take you through the fascinating little village of Kropa where you will find the iron forging museum dedicated to the history of the town’s blacksmith trade. You can even learn how to make your own nail, and ether add it to the current collection of over 100 types, or take it home with you.

Day 6: BEGUNJE –  KRANJSKA GORA (44 km). 3* hotel.
Continuing along the edge of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, you arrive in the historic village of Begunje. As the sun illuminates the mountains your route will take you on a cycling path that goes between the ranges of the Julian Alps and the Karawanke Mountains to Kranjska Gora, a popular alpine town famous for its ski resorts, but also a great base for many summer activities.

Day 7: KRANJSKA GORA – BLED (40 km). 4* hotel.
For your final day you head back into the heart of the Triglav National Park. The route takes you alongside the Sava Dolinka River and into the Krma Valley. You can have lunch in the mountain hut at the foot of Triglav, the mightiest mountain in the Julian Alps. From here you will head through the Radovna Valley between the Pokljuka and Mežakla plateaus to the thundering rapids of the 1.6km Vintgar Gorge.

Day 8: End of the tour.

Forhåpentligvis er det ikke End of my bicycling... Jeg gleder meg! :o)

Sykkelritt? Not!

For ei uke forrige uke var! Januar returnerte med rett over null grader, kuling i kastene og striregn. Det vi ikke fikk av nedbør i mars kom på noen få dager... 1,5 meter nysnø i fjellet i mai - jadda, her er're vår!? Som betyr, at Landsbyrittet ble erstattet med fyring i peisen, bardunering av sommerbilen min og alt løsøre inn i garasjen.

En ekte vestlending er...
...en som aldri pakker bort vinterklær...

Røldal Skisenter - I mangel av sykkelvær i lavlandet....


Igår fikk jeg imidlertid sykkelen ut igjen, og det var HERLIG! Svarte skyer og langt fra sola, men vi kom da på hjul en liten tur. 15,8km og nært 20km/t i snitt rundt Bjørheimsvannet og over fjellet. Strålende fornøyde!

Sykkeltur til sensommeren er herved bestilt, så nå er det bare å trene seg opp! Turen går til Slovenia på Eurobonus-poeng. 8 dagers rundtur, ca 25 mil og Pearls of Slovenia med tanke på landskap skal utforskes. Mer info om tur og opplegg senere - men turen starter her i Bled, et vakkert sted som tar deg 100 år tilbake i tid. Dette blir en interessant tur! (...sa hun som garanterte at det ALDRI kom til å bli sykkeltur i en ferie..)



Nå - styrketrening av armer!!! = bære stein... Bor man på vestlandet så bor man på vestlandet. Steingjerde here I come...
